The
T A L L A R O O K was
built in 1946 by the Australian Navy as a fully armed General Purpose
Vessel. She was used as a minesweeper well into the post-war years,
until her decommission in 1969.
She was then
purchased by a Tasmanian shipping company to carry out a coastal freight
run between Hobart and Melbourne.

The
present owners bought the boat in 1995 and embarked on a six year
multi-million dollar restoration to convert her into a luxury
motor sailor.
